biography.

Kayden is a born and raised Gridanian, who starting from his youth studied as a Conjurer under the Padjali's guiding hands. From a young age, Kayden was a sickly child, his immune system seeming to not exist well enough for him to even step outside. This meant that most of the time he was surrounded by medicine and doctors trying to figure out what was going on with him, and it sparked a genuine curiousity and desire to know more about healing and medicine as a whole.
Raised by two elderly parents, who's mother had him in her mid 40s and father in his mid 50s, they were very strict with their child and fortunate enough to afford to pay for a good education for him. They enforced diligence onto him, not taking anything under a perfect score from their child, and with all the time Kayden spent at home sick he was able to keep up with his studies.
At the age of 16, unfortunately, there was a terrible accident. Both of his parents died, struck by an angry stag, and Kayden was taken in to finish his schooling and conjury lessons by his older sister.
Nora Banks was just as strict as her parents were with Kayden. Despite his deep sense of loss and depression, she made sure to keep him continously focused on his studies, instead of allowing him to process and grieve the early death of his parents. Unfortunately, the two of them had such a huge age gap, (Nora being 20+ years his senior), that they did not grow a very deep bond with one another. She did, however, in her own way, secure him a path to further education, getting him to apply to become a student within Sharlayan.
When he came of age, he left his temporary home with his sister to travel to Sharlayan on his own, furthering his studies within medicine and magic under the tutelage of the academia, and with new found freedom to express himself, and strangely after his immune system seemed to have caught up and matured along with him, Kayden began to experiment and learn more about himself.
He met a man within the academia that helped blossom him even further, bringing a light to his life that he had previously denied or outright didn't know existed. While this boy was seen as something of a trouble maker, together the two of them seemed the perfect match to reflect one another.
The love between them, however, was shortlived. For reasons no one knows but Kayden alone, the boy he loved vanished, and Kayden left the academia soon after.
Broken, and failing to do as his sister demanded, Kayden was not welcomed back into Nora's home. Instead, he returned to his parents' abandoned house, taking it as his own, with only the trust fund left to him to help keep him afloat. During this time, his life became far darker, and he began to drink heavily.
During the worst parts of this point in Kayden's life, he wandered out of his home and into the Black Shroud behind it, cursing the twelve and any god that could listen for his luck in life, only to be met by the anger of elementals for daring the curse them.
Trapped down by these Elementals, one of them significantly stood out amongst the rest, calling to him and beginning to soothe him and his woes, promising him a better life if they listened to his words.
Becoming chosen by this elemental, and soon after the other angered elementals being soothed by her as well, Kayden was chosen to learn more and more about conjury, and to take up the study of white mage, in order to protect the area of the woods that he lived in.
He returned to Sharlayan with new purpose, following the guidance of these elementals, and finished out his study in biological medicine, before returning to the forest post the fall of dalamud to find that the elementals had grown silent.
Heart broken by this, but still determined, Kayden moved on from his home and began to pick up work as a healer, and a medicine man, which is where he is at right now.
